INTRODUCING…

Dark Moon Mill is the work of craftsperson Jim Dilks, based near Pendle Hill in Lancashire. Influenced by local folklore, rural traditions, and coastal life, Jim carves and paints each wooden figure by hand. His work blends simple forms with strong character, drawing on a sense of place and storytelling without overstating it. The figures—often pipe-smoking sailors or cloaked folk—are playful, considered, and rooted in a distinctive northern craft tradition.

The Watchmen

They've stood for generations — carved by hand, painted by memory, keepers of coastal tales long forgotten. Guardians of the sea’s edge, each Watchman bears the weight of storm, salt, and story.

Each one bears a tale in its coat folds and pipe smoke, stories passed down in knots and tide lines — of lost sailors, moonlit hauls, and the hum of harbour ghosts. No two are alike, but all carry the same truth:
the sea remembers, and so do they.

Made to be held, displayed, passed on. The Watchmen remember what we’ve forgotten.
